Started from a seed…

Thirty-four years ago, during a trip to the U.S, Stephen Waring had a ‘Eureka’ moment - “Every single lawn in the U.K should receive the love and attention it deserves”. Thus, GreenThumb was born.

As our Founder, Stephens passion for achieving the most beautiful and cared for lawn is embedded within each person at GreenThumb. We’re proud to be leading such a fantastic community of Lawn Lovers.

Not content with being the first Lawn Treatment Service in the U.K, we continue to pioneer in every aspect of Lawn Care, eagerly paving the way in our beloved industry.

We flourished…

A professional Lawn Treatment service cheaper than DIY was, and still is a fundamental reason why so many people adopted GreenThumb to provide their Lawn Care. The same is still true today, our feeds are designed and manufactured to our bespoke specification, always with the aim to get your lawn to be the best it can be.

For more than 30 years, we have been analysing the best treatments and fertilisers for your lawn with our dedicated team of developers and plant food nutritionists’. It has taken us decades to perfect our formula which is why we restrict our fertiliser to our loyal customers and do not sell them through any distributors. If you are not a GreenThumb customer and achieving the best lawn is important to you, then you should be a GreenThumb customer. Simple.

We branched out…

We grew our branches from just 6 in the North West & North Wales to more than 200 across the U.K. Today, we make over 2.5 million visits each year to our loyal customers lawns from Inverness to the Isle of Wight.

An example of our pioneering approach to Lawn Treatments is our most recent, the Lawn Makeover. We can now create the Ultimate Lawn! Its focus is not just on the best lawn without those weed grasses, but on sustainability, organic materials, efficient use of natural rainfall and 100% recycling of waste, including our bags. We are very proud of it. Naturally, it’s unique to GreenThumb.
