When can I start using GreenThumb?

You can start your Lawn Care journey at any time of the year! There is never a 'bad time' to start improving your lawn and becoming a GreenThumb customer.

What Lawn Treatments do you have?

We offer three lawn treatment programmes: Basic, Standard and Ultimate. All of which include our four core NutraGreen treatments, plus an application of our Oasis treatment. Our Standard programme also includes Aeration and Scarification. Our Ultimate programme includes all of this, plus two applications of StressBeater, additional Oasis, Top Dressing and Overseeding, Pest Management Treatment and Lawn Disease Management. Do I have to sign a contract? 

No, we want our customers to continue with GreenThumb because you want a healthier, greener lawn, not because you’re stuck in a contract. With our treatment programmes, you can save money when you pay via Direct Debit for which you’ll need to sign a Direct Debit Mandate with the relevant T&C’s which relate to this payment option.

Do I need to do anything? 

It’s important to remember that Lawn Care only works when both you (the customer) and we (GreenThumb) fulfil our essential roles in taking care of your lawn. We provide your lawn with vital nutrients, important machine work and an abundance of fantastic treatments, along with the care and attention it deserves. All we ask of you is that you apply a regular watering and correct mowing regime to keep your lawn looking its best.

How long does it take to apply each lawn treatment? 

We understand why it may seem odd that our treatments take so little time to apply, but we want to reassure you that a few minutes is all we need to ensure your lawn is happy and healthy until our next visit. 
This is true for the majority of our treatments including our NutraGreen fertilisers, Oasis and weed control, however, our Aeration & Scarification machine work naturally takes a little longer as we manoeuvre the machines across your lawn. Applying our treatments is second nature to our expert Lawn Operatives, they do this day in day out, so even machine work might not take as long as you think it would!

Why do target (spot) spray weeds instead of blanket spraying? 

Whilst we apply all of our treatments to your entire lawn, we use a different method for controlling those pesky weeds. We spot spray your weeds as the herbicides we use are ‘post-emergence selective herbicides’ which means they will only effect existing weeds or weed leaves.

If we were to blanket spray your entire lawn including areas where weeds aren’t active, then the herbicide would just go to ground, wasting the product and going against our stance to be as environmentally responsible as possible. 
The products we use and how we use them are controlled by recognised agencies that enforce environmental related Government Guidelines.

What can we do if you’re still seeing weeds after your treatment?

Our weed control generally works over a three-week period, but if during that time, you notice an increase in weeds, then you can simply contact your local branch who will schedule another visit to assess your lawn and apply additional herbicide if needed.

Do we need you to be at home whilst we treat your lawn? 

Quite simply, no; the choice is completely yours. The majority of our customers are not at home when we call. We take a flexible approach for the convenience of our loyal customers as we know that work and life commitments can be difficult to juggle sometimes. If you’re not home, we just ask that you leave any gates open/unlocked so that we can access your lawns. If you would prefer to be in when we are treating your lawn, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Is it safe for pets? 

Yes. We only recommend that you keep your dog or cat off the lawn until any liquid part of the treatments have dried (approx. 2 hours or more depending on weather conditions and moisture content). Our experienced Lawn Operatives will advise you on the day for the precautions you need to take. 

Grazing pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs should be kept off the lawn for a minimum of two weeks or three cuts, whichever occurs latest, to avoid ingestion of applied treatments.

Do you mow lawns?

No. We don't cut grass, weed borders, trim hedges, or offer any other gardening service.
We specialise in what we are the best at - expertly treating lawns! Turning them from tired, weed infested grass areas, to lawns you can be proud of. However, if you need any mowing advice, please ask! 

I think my lawn is beyond repair. Can GreenThumb save it? 

Very likely. GreenThumb's bespoke treatments are designed to reinvigorate your lawn. It’s very rare for us to come across a lawn which is beyond saving. If it is, then our GreenThumb Makeover will be the answer.
