Over the last few years we gave ourselves the task of turning existing lawns into the ultimate lawn. We also had the goal of doing this more cost effectively, with superior results than turfing, with less disruption to, and commitment from the home-owner.

A Brand-New Lawn

Our Lawn Makeover is not a superficial, quick fix transformation such as scarifying and over-seeding - often called a Lawn Renovation. No, we give you a brand-new lawn.

We kill off the old lawn with a 'clean label' grass weed killer.

We will even make a number of Post Makeover Day visits to check everything is progressing as planned and treat the lawn with our bespoke products.

Our 12 Step Lawn Makeover Process

Step 1

Total Lawn Kill

We will apply a ‘clean label’ herbicide to kill all plant life in the lawn area. As the lawn dies, it will turn yellow, then brown, 'straw-like'. This will happen over the next 7-14 days.

Step 2

De-thatching - 'Makeover Reel'

With our unique de-thatching reel, our machine will remove the dead grass and thatch. We will remove the debris each time we pass over the lawn, which will be several times. To get the superior result, we need to reach the soil level.

Step 3

Aeration

Our aerator will punch holes in the soil to improve the air-space and soil structure which promotes a good foundation for grass seed germination. After this, we will go over the lawn with our de-thatching machine again. (Step 2)

Step 4

Collect, Bag & Remove Waste

All debris is collected and taken away (which we will arrange). Plastic bags and grass waste are 100% recycled. The bags are taken to a bio-fuel plant and the grass waste made into compost. Nothing goes to landfill. Debris can be placed on your compost heap if requested.

Step 5

'Diamond Green'
Bespoke Lawn Seed

The next step is applying our grass seed. We have developed our own exclusive and bespoke grass seed called ‘Diamond Green’. It is a blend of Fescue and Perennial Rye grasses which adapt specifically to any environment. For example, Rye grass performs better in heavier clay soils and Fescue more so in sandier soils.

Step 6

100% Weed-Free, Organic, Recycled Dressing

We then top-dress the new seeds with a nutrient-rich compost to encourage germination.

Step 7

NutraGreen® Fertiliser

We will then apply our unique NutraGreen fertiliser. Over the next 10 weeks, our controlled-release fertiliser will feed the lawn during its germination period.

Step 8

Oasis - Water-Conserver Treatment

We will next apply our unique Oasis water-conserver treatment. When it rains, or when the lawn is watered, Oasis aids water retention at the root zone. The illustration above shows how effective this treatment is. We add this treatment to reduce the amount of watering you have to perform.

Step 9

Watering & Care Package

At the end of the Makeover, we will water your lawn. We will also make 3 follow-up visits as part of a care package over the next 10-12 weeks. This will include germination progress, mowing advice, and conclude with a bespoke, feed and weed treatment.

Step 10

Germination Visit

Approximately 14 days after Makeover Day, your new lawn will be emerging. We will produce a brief report on its progress and offer any advice to help it on its way.

Step 11

Establishment Visit

On this visit we will analyse sward establishment. The lawn will now be ready for mowing to begin.

Step 12

NutraGreen Treatment

On this visit we will apply our NutraGreen fertiliser and herbicide to control any weeds present. To ensure your lawn remains in the best possible condition, we will incorporate it into an annual feeding programme specifically designed for your lawn.
